GIVE A LITTLE LOVE

On March 20, 2020, our family decided to start posting some songs in a series of Coronavirus Stairwell Sessions, looking for something fun and positive to do with the extra time on our hands. The first one we posted was an original song entitled “Give a Little Love.” The response was so positive and warm (even Jennifer Garner posted it on her Instagram story!), that we decided to try to do more with it – to further share the message of love and hope, as well as raise money for those in need during this Coronavirus crisis. First, we recorded a studio version of the song to offer to everyone who donated to the Seattle Foundation’s Covid-19 Response Fund, along with some beautiful Zentangle-inspired artwork by Deborah Bluestein (our aunt). Then, something magical happened — people started to duet virtually with our original YouTube post. As we started receiving these heartfelt and joyful duets, we realized a few things: 1) our friends are beautiful, generous, talented souls, 2) this project was going to expand beyond Seattle, and 3) we were going to HAVE to put all the performances together into one compilation video.

We cannot fully express how much joy and comfort these virtual collaborations have given us. It is a gift intended for the world, yet it is extremely personal for us, like a musical photo album of our dearest friends. This collaboration has crossed generations and continents, joining together people who would never have otherwise met, let alone made music together. We are humbled by and so, so, so thankful for this experience. Music heals <3

The many singers and musicians in the video come from all over: Seattle, New York City, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Nashville, Chicago, Las Vegas, Arizona, Taiwan, Japan, Germany and the UK.
